Prague? Best areas for short break for 40th?

We are booking and are unsure where to stay. Any thoughts? In the city, and where the beer is cheap if possible! Thanks in advance.

I stayed at the hotel below.  It's in the historic part of the city, away from the stag parties yet only a short walk to the tourist attractions.

Also try the restaurant below - the food' lovely.

Cheap beer everywhere.  Or why not get some bottles from Tesco's (yes Tesco's) and take them to one of the picturesque parks in the city and have a picnic.

Re - city/Wenceslas Square - if memory serves be correctly Wenceslas Square is quite built up/noisy but surrounded by bars and restaurants.

It depends what you want from your break.  Remember Prague is popular for lads/girls breaks.

Prague is ace. I stayed in the Hotel Duo outside of the city centre, but some of the top oth hotels in the middle are pretty cheap. The pound goes a long way over there, so splash out.
