Pragyan Ojha wants to play limited-overs cricket as well – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PP-Ojha-c2198, the Indian left-arm-spinner, has claimed that he has the potential to serve his country in limited-overs cricket and revealed that he is working extremely hard in the off-season to stay fit.
The 25-year-old has been a prolific performer in domestic cricket for a number of years now. Since debuting for India in 2008, the orthodox slow bowler has been in and out of the national squad.
The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 at home last year but he is yet to be recalled
in the limited-overs line-up.
Ojha thinks that he can be equally effective in the shorter formats of the game and is working hard to remove the Test specialist tag. India is scheduled to visit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 this month for a limited-overs series and the left-arm spinner is hopeful of finding
a place in the team.
"People feel that I am only good for Test matches. But I have also played in ODIs and would always like to believe that I am good enough to play in all three versions. I have been working very hard during the off-season. The selection is not in my hands
but I don't want to be caught unprepared," he said.
With more than 250 first-class wickets, Ojha is considered as one of the best spinners in the country along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Ashwin-c2228 and Harbhajan.
The left-arm spinner has been performing exceptionally well in the Indian Premier League over the years and has played for Deccan Chargers and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians, also slated to represent the latter in this year’s Champions League T20.
He understands that there is a lot of competition for places in the national team, which is a massive motivation behind working hard.
The Test cricketer added, "When you play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, the last thing you do is to take your place in the team for granted. There will always be tough competition and one needs to be fully prepared to give his hundred percent."
