India’s upcoming shuttler Prakash Jolly displayed his remarkable skills in front of local crowd and managed to overpower his compatriot Kiran Kumar B. in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Syed Modi International India GPG 2012 in Lucknow, on Tuesday, December
18.
Prakash has been struggling hard to improve his skills in all departments of the game and proved his worth in the arena by playing flawless badminton in the qualifying round.
The in-form Prakash showed urgency on court and he did not spare any chance for his team-mate throughout the battle. He remained successful in thrashing Kumar in straight sets in just 26 minutes with a dominating margin.
In contrast, Kumar tried to play attacking badminton in the first game but he could not take the bird early. However, he played good badminton in the second set but not enough to escape defeat from the hands of his compatriot in straight games.
In the first game, the in-form Prakash showed a staggering feat in the arena as he played shots with impressive variations from starting points.
The skills and remarkable game plan helped Prakash to keeps his challenger in all sorts of trouble on court.
Until the end of starting half of starting game, the aggressive Prakash got a strong position on board by taking a stunning lead on the board.
Kumar tried his best to show aggression but could not take control of the game and remained struggling in the concluding part.
Prakash did not slow down the pace of rallies at any stage and easily took the opening game with a spectacular 21-7 margin on the board.
In the second game, the lofty Prakash did not lose his superiority at any stage in the first half as he played with wonderful control and aggression in his play.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Prakash remained consistent in playing with command and variations and stayed ahead on the board.
The attacking and positive play in the ending part of second set assisted Prakash to grab the set with a reasonable 21-18 score on the board.
Prakash did not face any considerable problem in showing exit to Kumar in qualifying round by a controlled margin of 21-7 and 21-18.
