Pramac Ducati riders Loris Capirossi, Randy de Puniet ready for Catalunya Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Pramac Ducati team is ready with their riders Loris Capirossi and Randy de Puniet to feature in the second Spanish event of the 2011 season, the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya on June 5, 2011.
In the ongoing season, the Pramac team has just scored half points in comparison to their last season’s achievement so far. Both the team riders have not been able to complete all rounds in the 2011 MotoGP season. The only blessing for the team was the Portugal
event where both teammates were able to cross the finish line.
The Italian rider has scored the 14th position as his best qualifying place in the ongoing season. The Italian’s best race finish for the 2011 season is 11th position in the first Spanish round at Jerez. In the past, Capirossi has also
won the Catalan Grand Prix under premier class category.
Loris Capirossi said, “I'm really motivated. I took a break and recovered the energy lost during my therapy after Jerez. I want to get back on my Ducati and show that we can do a good job. I love the Barcelona track, as it's where I got my first [win] during
my previous stint aboard a Ducati.”
Capirossi is the man who scored the first MotoGP win in 2003 for the Ducati factory in the premier class. After some falls in the current season, Loris Capirossi feels good and fit to race.
The French rider in the Pramac Ducati squad, Randy de Puniet has been a successful rider at the Montmelo circuit in the 250cc category. He won races in 2003 and 2004 at the Barcelona venue.
Randy said, “I finally put aside the ill-fated race at Le Mans, and I'm ready for Barcelona. I'm pretty well physically, and I hope that the bike is as well. I'm hopeful that we've made some improvements with the bike's electronics, and I can't wait to get
back on the track.”
Puniet likes to race on the Catalan circuit but the fact is, on the long straight at the circuit, the Ducatis will lose pace from Hondas, which are astonishingly fast at this point in the 2011 season.
