Pramac Racing Team riders Randy de Puniet, Loris Capirossi focussing on Catalunya – MotoGP news
Pramac Racing Team riders Randy de Puniet and Loris Capirossi are now focussing on the upcoming Catalunya GP after they could not finish at the recently held Monster Energy Grand Prix de France.
Frenchman Randy de Puniet was hindered by the front-end failure of his Desmosedici GP11. It forced him to retire after a fall even without completing the first lap, much to the disappointment of his countrymen.
Puniet was also down in the first lap of the season opener in Qatar. Following into the second round at the Spain, he fell and could not make a restart. In the Portuguese Grand Prix, the Frenchman was able to score six points by the end of the race by finishing
at tenth place.
Pramac Racing rider Randy de Puniet said, “I don’t know what to say, I don’t understand how I managed to fall like this. It was very strange, the front suddenly lost grip and I slipped. I'm disappointed and angry; I wanted to do well in this race.”
The French rider also recalled the warm-up incident with Casey Stoner and expressed his apologies. He briefly explained the incident as he was adjusting his brake, expecting no one behind. Suddenly Stoner appeared and he tired to clear his line but the Aussie
went into where Puniet made his move. He was generous to leave all the mishap behind him.
The round four of the 2011 MotoGP season was equally frustrating for the Italian teammate Loris Capirossi. The Italian rider was engaged in the battle for ninth place in the race, including Alvaro Bautista and Nicky Hayden. After coming in contact with a
rider, he fell and had to retire from the race. He rounded up the race weekend in annoyance and frustration.
Pramac Racing rider Loris Capirossi said, “So much bad luck. I was waiting for the end of the race to attack the group; I had the chance to recover some positions. Then Bautista slowed suddenly, as he was fighting as well with another rider, and I couldn’t
avoid touching him and this made me fall.”
