Pramac Racing rider Loris Capirossi finishes 12th at 2011 US Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Pramac Racing team rider Loris Capirossi made his comeback after two rounds at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and finished 12th in the race.
Although he was suffering from pain but still he crossed the finish line.
Capirossi said, “This race was a gamble for me. In Germany I only rode for a few laps but my shoulder was too bad to continue. I made the decision to come here, and for me the most important thing was to finish the race. We knew it would be difficult because
during the test was very hard to ride.”
The Italian rider was displeased with his 12th place in the race but his main goal was to complete the race in any condition. After leaving California he is preparing to get 100 percent fit for the upcoming round after the short summer break.
The 11th MotoGP round is taking place at Brno, Czech Republic on August 14, 2011.
Brno circuit is one of the favourite tracks of the Italian rider. His goal there is to step up and compete for the top ten positions.
Pramac Racing Technical Director, Fabiano Sterlacchini said, “It has been a very difficult race. We were once again very unfortunate, but we hope that bad luck went away because it would be impossible to go on like this. Loris was very brave; however, until
the shoulder acted up he was keeping a good pace.”
Sterlacchini further explained that later in the race Capirossi was feeling severe pain in his shoulder. He said following the pain Capirossi decided to complete race rather than trying to push further which could have extensively damage his muscles.
The effort made by Capirossi explains that he will soon be in perfect race condition. The team hopes to see him totally recovered for the next round at Brno.
On the other side, Randy de Puniet is down after crash in the qualifier practice session. He sustained fractures in vertebrae and neck that will take a long time to recover.
