Pramac Racing riders de Puniet, Capirossi disappointed after Motorland Aragon GP – MotoGP news
Pramac Racing team riders Randy de Puniet and Loris Capirossi finished disappointed in the Motorland Aragon GP.
The French rider, de Puniet, showed a strong form in the practice sessions while in Qualifying Practice session, he topped to third position but could not sustain it. However, it revealed his approachable pace on the Aragon circuit.
While expressing his displeasure on the Aragon event, he said he was unhappy to finish 12th in the race after a progressive weekend. His aim was to finish in top six slots but a drop to second position was a disaster.
Randy de Puniet said, “When Abraham crashed, I couldn’t do anything but go off, and after that I was able to make up a lot of seconds and some positions. I had almost caught the group in front and was pushing really hard when I made a mistake and lost everything
I had gained.”
The French rider was still riding strong in the race where he occasionally challenged the mid pack of the riders. Starting from tenth position on the grid, he aimed to snatch a mid position. However, he said it to be an unfortunate event for the team.
On the other side of the Pramac garage, the Italian rider was hoping to chase some valuable points in the Spanish event. Unfortunately, when he was close to overtaking Toni Elias, he crashed into his Honda. Both Capirossi and Elias slid into the gravel but
escaped any kind of severe injury.
Capirossi said, “There’s little to say. I crashed on my ‘famous’ right shoulder and suffered another dislocation as a result. It hurts a lot, even with the pain-killer I received. After the Misano race, I wanted to try to at least finish the race, but instead
things went like they did.”
The veteran, Capirossi was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder joint on the same side which he broke in the Assen event. It might take him some time to recover from it which questions his appearance in the upcoming Japanese GP. Let’s see if he manages to
make it to the Motegi Twin Circuit.
