Pramac Racing team calls Andrea Iannone to test Ducati in Mugello test session – MotoGP news
Pramac Racing team called Andrea Iannone to ride their Ducati machine for the Mugello test session.
The opportunity was Iannone’s first ever ride in MotoGP class.
Pramac rider Randy de Puniet also participated in the official MotoGP test held at the Tuscan circuit. Due to the absence of Loris Capirossi after his crash, the Pramac Racing team decided to pick Andrea Iannone and Sylvain Guintoli to run their satellite
Ducatis.
Iannone said, “I'm really happy I finally got to ride a MotoGP bike. I want to thank Pramac Racing for the opportunity they have given me, but mostly technicians who supported me on this test day. I have to say, the difference between Moto2 is big.”
He expressed his maiden experience on a MotoGP prototype. He claimed that Ducati has a lot more power than Moto2 class bikes, being more difficult to ride. He is keen to learn more about premier class riding and got positive feedback from the test.
Randy de Puniet said, “Today I rode a lot because in the race there were many things that didn’t go as planned. I can’t say that I’m satisfied at the end of this test, since there still are behind the others. We made some progress with the bike this weekend,
but not enough to leave Mugello with a smile.”
The French rider at the Pramac squad put in his efforts to sort a few issues with his Ducati Desmosedici, but still there are some areas to be improved.
The third rider in Pramac Racing livery was Sylvain Guintoli. The French rider has formerly raced in MotoGP class. His debut season in premier class was back in 2002 and after a gap, he came back to MotoGP for two seasons. He spent the 2007 season with Yamaha
and the 2008 season with Ducati.
At the start, he was having some troubles to cope up with a MotoGP bike after a long time. The French rider was pleased to avail the opportunity of riding a MotoGP prototype to its fullest, especially in a full day session. He is confident and expects if
he gets a chance to ride at Sachsenring, Germany, he will gain a lot more confidence.
