Pramac Racing team rider Loris Capirossi plans German Grand Prix return – MotoGP news
Pramac Racing team rider Loris Capirossi is planning his comeback at the ninth MotoGP event which will take place in Sachsenring, Germany.
Capirossi said, “I feel better, but my physical condition is still not acceptable. I'm doing daily physical therapy sessions at the medical center IM2S of Monaco. I already missed two races, that Mugello the most important for me. I want to ride my bike
as soon as possible.”
The Italian rider faced a crash during the qualifying practice session for the Dutch TT Assen Grand Prix. After the crash, he was diagnosed with broken ribs and injuries in his neck and back. Following the mishap, he decided not to race at Assen.
Capirossi also missed out on his home event, the Italian Grand Prix held recently at the Mugello circuit.
After Capirossi’s injury and missing two events in a row, it was decided that the Italian rider will possibly miss more rounds. The decision was taken after calling in a substitute rider, Sylvain Guintoli. The former MotoGP rider was considered due to his
three-season experience in the premier class.
The Pramac Racing team brought in two more riders along Randy de Puniet at the official MotoGP test held at Mugello following the race day. The other two riders were Andrea Iannone form Moto2 class and Sylvain Guintoli, a former MotoGP rider.
However, the Italian veteran has announced to get back in his racing leathers as the German Grand Prix begins next week. Although he will not be in a perfect condition to take racing stress but still he is looking to be on the track at Germany.
The World Superbike rider for Effenbert-Liberty Ducati racing team rider, Guintoli will be seated as a reserve rider for three upcoming events. Though the team has not seen any true success yet in the 2011 season but the change might bring fortune to the
team. Let’s see how it transpires in Germany next weekend.
