The Italian national team head coach was impressed by the performance of Destro in leading the line of Gli Nazionale and reflected on his importance to the youth.
The former Fiorentina head coach has given a new dimension to the Italian national team and has made sure that he gives the youngsters in the Italian set up with ample amounts of opportunities to prove a point.
The head coach of the Italian national team was talking to RAI Sport after the Azzurri lost out to England in their friendly match which was hosted in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112 opened the scoring for Gli Nazionale but
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 scored a wonderful goal on the 80th minute.
It was a very young Italian side, with average age of the team under 25 years of age. Of the players debuting for the national side, Mattia Destro and Stephan El Shaarawy started in attack.
Prandelli reserved special praise for the AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 player, and went on to state that Destro was very industrious and had great vision. The Azzurri coach went on to state that he was extremely happy with the display put in by his team, and remarked:
“Mattia did very well and I am happy, especially as it was a very special game for the strikers against a physically strong defence. We showed character and must continue along this path. I liked the performance.”
He further went on to state that the need of the time is to identify the players who will assist the national side to progress in the future as well, and also voiced support for the senior members, by commenting:
“We have to understand which young players have the right qualities, as we have to look to the future. Obviously those who played at Euro 2012 will have the chance to continue, but we must also consider the future of the Nazionale.”
There were six players who debuted in the match against England, and Prandelli took 12 uncapped players to the friendly against the Three Lions.
