Prank callers keep calling my friend at 1:00 each night. What should he do and how can we report them?

He's been disconnecting the phone at night and reconnecting it in the morning but he's tired of doing so.

If I were your friend, I would change my phone number. I had to do that myself.

Get Caller ID and inform your local security or police about the situation and it should be dealt with in no time.

Do you have caller ID If you do, get the # who called and call him back and tell him to stay the h**l off the phone, or you'll involve the phone company and have them press criminal charges.

Or, change The #, but don't waste your time with the police, they won't do a d**n thing for you and really don't care aout you and your phone until its time for the PBA fund drive.

the same thing happen to me too. it would be best to call the phone company. they can just make to were no one can call u with a blocked number. if it gets worst i would just get a new number, the police cant really do anything about it

No sense calling police they will just tell you to change your phone number. Unless there has been threats of bodily harm they are worthless.  And they wont put taps on phone, caller above has been watching to much TV. turn ringer off and let answering machine pick up calls. then turn it in to police. But you would be better off changing number.

Unplugging the phone will work, but give it time.  The "prankster" will get tired of calling and getting no reponse.

Also, he could invest in an inexpensive answering machine.  The caller will get tired of that, too.

If you have caller ID, have their number blocked.

If their number is blocked and unidentifiable, have all calls coming from blocked phone numbers blocked from your line (a good idea, anyway).

the best solution is to js change ur number..hes letting them win by unplugging his phone..change the num n let them idiots call n have to find someone else to prank..

u can also call the cops n tell them u r being threatening heavily by a person who keeps calling u everyday, let them kno he feels threatened n they can trace the number n the cops can go to their house..they will b shocked n **** bricks n get charged if u so choose to take it that route

do you have caller id, look at the id if you dont no the no dont answer.turn down the ringer of the phone or change your number.

Invite the police over - they will do a line tap and find out who it is.  I had to do this.

This happened to me years ago. One night, I got fed up and I just told the caller that :" since this morning my phone was tapped by the police (and, yes in some countries the police agree to do this) and that he could phone again without any problem." Guess what : I never got a call after this.:-)

Your friend could try this subterfuge and see what happens. If this is not working, he will have to change his phone number and keep it private.

call the phone company.  they can block the number.

get a whistle.  blow as loud as you can every time they call.
