Prank calls!?

ppl keep prank calling me off a private number. how do i find out the persons number w/out calling the cops??????

Get Privacy Director added to your phone (through phone company) private #'s have to identify themselves for approval.

here is a quick fix!!!

try using *77 which is ACR.....anonymous caller rejection...I bet they are using *67 to call your house...if you use *77 they cant get thru...

*69 it tells you the number of your last call

*69 will give you the number and *57 will flag it for the phone company.  After you flag it three times call the phone company to have them save it.  After three call go to the police station if you want to make a complaint.  They will give you an officer's name.  Call the phone company and give them permission to give this officer the information.  If you don't want to get the person in trouble, just have the officer call them to stop doing it.  This will usually scare them enough to stop.

I agree with Brigitte.  I don`t really think there is a way to get their number if they call anonymously.

This is only a suggestion, if you have an answering machine, you could just let the machine take the calls with the animated voice and not give the caller the pleasure of hearing your voice. In time they should get bored and stop. But I do not know how to get their phone number, sorry. :)

Hook your phone to your computer and download a software that does just that.

Impossible, unless you consult the phone company. You cannot consult the cops unless you have at least three harassing phone calls from the person. If it's really serious, call the cops & they can look up the number. Otherwise, there isn't a way to see whos calling you. I suggest just ignoring the calls or threatening to call the cops. Dial *69 if you want to get their number. I have the same problem bugs the snot out of me.
