Prank for my 8 yr old?

When you say he is sensitive, how will he react toward his own mom who played a prank on him?  Will he be so upset and inconsolable?

You may want to hold off on pranks until he is able to understand the concept of a prank.

I have to agree with Sharon F.  If he's already sensitive he probably won't like the fact that his mom is pulling a prank on him.  My daughter is 7 and is sensitive as well.  I have to be very careful about any joke that I make (Happy April Fool's Day, by the way!) or she could take it the wrong way or think that I'm "making fun of her."  That being said, you also don't want to feed into his sensitivity and make it worse.  Unfortunately, not everyone in the "real world" will treat your son with his best interests in mind and he does need to prepare for that.  

Instead of a prank, how about introducing him to some light joking to get him used to the concept of laughing at oneself?
