http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Kumar-c2143 happy to have 5-wicket haul at ‘Home of Cricket’ – Cricket News Update
Praveen Kumar, the young Indian pacer, is rejoiced to have achieved his maiden five-wicket haul in his maiden Test at Lord’s, the Home of Cricket, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011 due
to an elbow injury.
At the 2nd Day of the 1st Test, yesterday, Kumar was resplendent with his varied medium-fast deliveries which disturbed the English batsmen, as he kept striking at regular intervals.
Starting from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 in a row.
The wickets of Trott, Bell and Prior were outstanding achievements of the fast bowler as the three dangerous batsmen had made 70, 45 and 71 respectively.
However, the Indian protagonists failed to contain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 who winded up yesterday’s play with 202 runs not out, helping the home team amass 474 for the loss of 8 wickets in 131.4 overs.
Kumar delivered 40.3 overs, gave away 106 runs and grabbed five wickets.
Talking to the media, the pacer said, “It's a dream to get five wickets at Lord's. It is very special. I didn't mind bowling that many overs since I do bowl 30-35 overs in domestic cricket. In Zaheer's absence, I had to shoulder that responsibility.”
He further added, “If you lose somewhere, God makes it up in some other way. I can only work hard and play cricket. I missed the World Cup due to injury but this might have happened with any athlete."
Praveen marvellously filled the gap of the Indian pace leader, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379, who could not play on the 2nd Day due to his hamstring injury.
Praveen, who is an undisputed hero of the Indian domestic cricket, made his Test debut last month against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and took 12 wickets in three Tests, cementing his place in the team.
The 24-year-old right-arm bowler played his first International game in 2007. Since then he has played 3 Tests, 52 ODIs and 5 T20Is.
At the domestic level, Praveen has represented a number of teams including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Uttar-Pradesh-c858, his home team.
