Praveen Kumar to sit out of first three ODI’s due to chest injury - Cricket News Update
Injuries seem to be following the Indian team nowadays and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Kumar-c2143, the right-arm medium-pacer, is the latest inductee to the ever increasing list of injured players. The speedster will miss the first three One-Day Internationals
against the West Indies due to a chest injury.
An official, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-Madansingh-Jagdale-c88599, from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), disclosed the news to media. Jagdale, the secretary of BCCI, also brought to the forefront the name of player who will be included in the Indian
outfits as Praveen’s replacement.
Jagdale said, “Praveen Kumar has got an injury on the left side of his chest, and has therefore been ruled out of the first three ODIs against the West Indies. Abhimanyu Mithun will replace him in the squad for the first three
games.”
Praveen is no alien to injuries; the right-arm pacer’s career has been plagued with them. Elbow injury is the most recurring injury that has forced the speedster to sit out of matches.
The 25-year-old had earlier requested the BCCI not to include him in the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, as he needed some time off to recuperate from elbow injury and was ruled out of first ODI due to same reason.
India’s stand-in skipper, Virender Sehwag, prior to revelation of the chest injury, said, “Praveen Kumar has a niggle and so he is not available for the first ODI. We expect him to join the squad tomorrow and be fit for the second
match.”
Apart from Praveen, the Indians will be missing the services of Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 during the ODI series. Yuvraj is still in on the road to recovery from the non-malignant tumour, while Dhoni and
Tendulkar have been given rest.
The ODI series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and West Indies starts from Tuesday, November 29 with a match at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. The first match will be followed by games at Visakhapatnam and Ahmedabad on 2nd and 5th
of December respectively.
