  1. no, it can't hurt. prayer is veeeeeeery powerful. but, maybe rather than praying for the prices it'd be better to pray for a new solution to come  that instead of gas we can use another resource or for saudia arabia to sell us their gas. i think we should pray for god to handle the situation however he sees fit rather than our solution which is just to lower the prices.

  2. I think it's pretty ridiculous, too. I saw that on tv, then did a search online for it and saw reprints of those pictures and articles on news sites from Australia and the UK and was like "Oh, god... we look like idiots."

What's sad is that these people take the time to congregate at the pump to sing "We Shall Lower Gas Prices" and "He's Got Gas Prices In His Hands" when they should be diverting that energy and community to real solutions like pushing for public transit or efficiency or carpooling or things that will actually make a difference.

It's also sad that it's these same hard-line Christians who voted in an administration that's always been in the pockets of big oil.

Ugh, I hope this stupid mentality doesn't get too far into people's everyday lives. Next thing you know, it's going to be a group of evangelicals at the stop light singing "We shall make this red light green" or "We shall get another season of American Idol".

  3. About as ridiculous as the rest of religion!

  4. can't hurt.
