Prayer for Relief could either go to the Breeders’ Cup or stay in a little longer and prepare for the Dubai World Cup
The 3-year-old Bob Baffert trained colt, Prayer for Relief was seeking his fifth straight win on 16 October, in the Oklahoma Derby as he was sent off as the even money favourite for the 1 1/8 mile event off scored in his 3 consecutive derbies.
However, trainer Bob Baffert is unsure of his next start, but still hasn’t ruled out the possibility of running his 3-year-old colt in the 1 ¼ miles long Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic on 5 November, 2011, at Churchill Downs.
In the Oklahoma Derby, Prayer for Relief got boxed in along the rail, as he surged between the horses to find a little room to go all out, but couldn’t do so as he finished three quarters of a length behind Alternation.
Bob Baffert on Prayer for Relief’s immediate future said, that he doesn’t have to make a call on it till next week, and if he doesn’t send him in the Breeders’ Cup then he might freshen him up and send him to the Dubai World Cup.
Prayer for Relief might like that because he loves synthetic surfaces. The Dubai World Cup well commence in spring next year and it is run over at a distance of 1 ¼ miles, and the race is now run over synthetic surface.
Prayer for Relief became a millionaire on 16 October, 2011, and he has a pretty good record over synthetic surfaces, as he is a two time winner over synthetic tracks at Southern California.
After winning the allowance race over synthetic surface at Hollywood Park, Prayer for Relief enjoyed the dirt as much, as he bagged the Grade 3 Iowa Derby at about 1 1/16 miles at Prairie Meadows.
He scored his hat-trick of wins in the Grade 2 West Virginia Derby over at 1 1/8 miles on 6 August, 2011, and then went to Louisiana Downs to participate in the Grade 2 Super Derby on 10 September, 2011.
Prayer for Relief bagged his 4th in as many starts, when he defeated Awesome Bet and Populist Politics in the Super Derby with the winning time of 1 minute and 52.29 seconds.
