Pre-Algebra... I can't get it... can someone please help explain it to me?

okay its like... if y and z are next to each other like yz... does that mean to multiply y times z or y plus z? and when there's the fraction line do i divide the numerator by the denominator right?

OMg plz help... =[ i am so confused

mrs.Evans just gave us the homework like we were supposed to know what to do...

ANYWAYS any help???

  1. yz means you multiply them together

    y/z means you divide y by z


  2. yz means y times z

    i think you divide num. by den.

  3. Yes.

    yz = y*z. (Multipy)

    and

    y/z = Y divided by Z. (Divide)
