1. Why does the sit ups, with your hands on ur knees and running them up just passed you wrist look so retarded. I keeping thinking d**n this looks stupid. Do you know why they ask you to so it this way and not with your arms crossed over your chest?

2. How did you find the beep test. I recall doing the beep test 2 years ago when i was unfit and had a chest infection, and i reached 5 than.

Seeing i have to reach 7.5 and am now fitter and stronger, is 7.5 a hard beep to reach?

  1. 1 - That's exactly how they want you to do it, and it does look stupid. You won't be allowed to do it with your arms crossed over your chest (although that's how I train personally, finding it more of a challenge). Personally, I find my long arms make this component ridiculously easy.

2 - 7.5 is usually very easy to achieve. It's the standard they expect every recruit to pass prior to going to Kapooka, from fit young men to girls to 50 year old women.

If you do it when you're sick, you're not going to get too far - unlike a more stretched out 2.4 or 5 kilometer run, it's shorter and more intense. I'm sure you'll do fine.

If you want to be safe, do the Beep Test at home. Don't do it too often, as it can wear you out quickly.
