Question:

Pre-K Songs with Movement?

This is my first year teaching Pre-K and I need some music that incorporates movement. I am open to all types of sugguestions...not limited to music. Thanks in advance.

  2. I would suggest getting some Greg and Steve C.Ds. They have several specific to getting your kids moving and essentially it leads your kids through it....

    Some songs, are Animal Actions...they prompt the kids to make specific animal movements and sounds.

    I bought mine at Lakeshore Learning Store but I know they are also available at my local library.

    I also teach preschool and we use a lot of Jack Hartmann, and Dr. Jean cd's they are easy, quick and fun songs that go along with all different themes! Check those out!


  5. I remember my neighbors preschool end of the year program (and this was literally 12 years ago now!) so vividly because they used an amazing CD as their program!

    They used Maurice Sendak's Really Rosie soundtrack - it has some great kids tracks that incorporate music and movement.  The one I remember so vividly is "A, Alligators All Around" which is an alphabet song.

    So cute!  I think it might be available on itunes too, check it out!

  6. you can make up easy dance moves for songs like twinkle twinkle little star and other cute songs

  7. If you are in or near a city where it is taught, I would recommend the Education Through Music course from the Richards Institute.  They have a whole range of musical games that are appropriate for children from pre-k through middle school.  

  8. I can wiggle that's a really cute song. You should look up Dr. Jean she has cd's out for preschool age. Five speckled frogs is another great song that they can do itsy bitsy spider.  

  9. Animal Action-every kid in any of my classes has loved thisone!
