  2. No, not really. Pre-season form is just a warm up to the season proper.  I never take Adelaide's form seriously during this c**p season.

    The AFL should abolish the Pre- season c**p, and make the season proper longer, so every team plays each other twice.

  3. as a carlton supporter,thats a big NO from me! ,and i agree with Big kev the AFL should get rid of the pre season comp,make the season longer and increase the prize money for the grand final winner.

  4. yes, the pre season cup builds confidence for the players.

  5. No It has become decidedly meaningless as the years have passed.

    However what it has become is a tool to test new rules that the AFL hierarchy want to test and introduce unde true match conditions.  Each year they come up with new ones.  This year it is tampering with the interchange.

    Ask Micky Malthouse what he thinks.  Oh my he is outraged.

  6. No.  We trial our debutantes and new play patterns.

  7. NAh I tried once and it was completely opposite of how the season ended up. The smart teams try out there younger players and see who is good enough to become a senior and who still needs more training.

  8. not at all....who ever wins it seems not to even get into the 8 at the end of the season!!

    its good for the young guns to have a go and prove themselves for the season propper

  9. No not at all, because a lot of the better teams just use it to try out new players. Collingwood had pretty bad pre season games last year, but they had a great season proper. and , of course Carlton, as the others said.

  10. No not so much for the teams form, but it's good to see how younger and new players perform.

  11. No, Carlton has won the last 2 out of 3 pre-seasons played and finished in the bottom 3 at the end of the home and away season.

  12. Nah, it really is a trial for rookies, and players trying to break through into the team during the big season. All but Carlton dont take the NAB cup that seriously. If Carlton could they would play Chris Judd in the Pre-season cup, as they need the prize money.
