Question:

Pre-Season Swim Shape?

Season starts in mid-Nov and I havn't really swam, as in laps , since Feb. outside of some random swimming at the hotel pool during my vacation. I don't have acess to a pool and I'm not a huge fan of running, but any ideas on how I can build myself back up to some type of shape before I hit season?

  1. use p90x i lost ten pounds in 3 weeks

  2. Any aerobic activity will help you begin to condition for swimming. Biking, jogging, tennis, football, baseball, any sport where you work cardio is always helpful. You can use aerobic tapes instead if that's your thing.

  3. If you could get some tubing, you can run through the pull part of most strokes for some muscle memory and possible muscle strengthening.  Do a lot of core strengthening as that is where all the speed in swimming is generated from.  Flexibility and aerobic activity will help.
