  1. Um...algebraic expression or equation?

    Because this is an expression: x+25

    This is an equation: x+25=100

    An expression can't be "solved", it just is what it is.

    If it's an equation, just use PEMDAS to solve the problem in order!

    P-solve for parentheses.

    E-solve for exponents (like 3 squared)

    M-multiply left to right

    D-divide left to right

    A-add left to right

    S-subtract left to right

    So like, here's an equation: 2x-(10+12)=100

    1. First, solve what's in the parentheses.

                         2x-22=100

    2.Next, divide 2x. But remember what you do to one side, you must do to the other, so divide 100 by 2 also.

                          x-22=50

    3. To get x by itself, you have to get rid of -22. So add positive 22 to it to get zero! Repeat on the other side.

                           x=72

    X is equal to 72! Done!

    I hope I helped!=)

  2. Hm, well I am not sure exactly what you want but I will try.

    Example;

    1) 3Y+2=6X-5

    2) 3Y=6X-7 (Subtracted 2 from -5)

    3) Y=2X-7/3 (Divided each side by three)

    I hope that's what you needed!

  3. 25+y=100. Y=25

    Is that the type of algebra you wanted?
