If a twelve-year old completed a pre-algebra test with 20 questions and got 18 correct, is that good? Questions include like... addition/subtraction/division/multiplica... of integers, order of operations, exponents. A few examples are: Simplify 5x(13x6)3 96÷6.

(err... the 3 next to the parenthesis is an exponent.) So... is that good?

  1. The twelve year old, assuming he/she is in 7th grade, would or could be in advanced mathematics. That is very good, And will come in handy as they go through High school, since most schools have a grading system where you get extra GPA points if you're in advanced classes.

  2. yes

    18 correct is an A

Although in my district taking a Pre-algebra class as a 7th grader was normal, and I took it as a 6th grader.
