Pre employment medical checkup (hep b)?

my prospective employer has arranged a pre-employment checkup for me. i have hep b. will the doctor find out? will i be rejected for employment because of that if they do find out?

  1. What kind of career field are you going into?  Your medical condition shouldn't affect your change of employment, they may take extra precautions with you working there, but mainly the medical check up is the standard drug screen, making sure you're up to date on shots, if you are going into the medical field or lab tb testing and they recommend hep shots.  Your doctor may ask, just be honest, I think the only thing that would affect you if you got hired and maybe the medical benefits issues.  


  2. If you are on medication that is controlling your liver enzymes, then a regular blood workup will not detect any abnormalties. Only a Hep Blood Panel could detect Hep B...I think you will be fine. Don't lose sleep over it.
