Question:

Pre-existing condition on health insurance?

If I apply for health insurance with a preexisting condition and they give me a 12-month waiting period before covering the condition - does that 12 months "start over" if I am treated within the waiting period and I pay for the treatment on my own? Or does the 12-month waiting period begin from the date I purchased the insurance, regardless of what takes place during the waiting period?

  1. You would have to read your policy to be certain, but on a typical policy, the waiting period would end after 12 months from the original date of purchase.  If you paid for treatment, that would not typically affect the date that your waiting period ended.

  2. It depends on what their contract says.

Good health insurance plans allow pre-existing conditions.

  3. You could try to google it ,here is some direct resource might be helpful.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  4. It doesn't "reset" if you pay for treatment.  But depending on what the condition is, they might not take you at all, anyway.
