  1. call the school and find out.

  2. usaully they have to turn 5 before the school years starts. my daughter stayed in preschool for 2.5 yrs, then when she was 5 and a half was able to got to kinder. her birthday falls in December

  3. depends on the cut off date of the school housing the kindergarten.  Our cut off date is August 1 so no, your child would not be allowed to start for another year.

  4. Check with your school board.  There may be private schools that allow 4 year olds in Kindergarten.  In Chicago, children must be 5 years old by September 1st in order to go to Chicago Public Schools for Kindergarten.

  5. If your state allows a four year old with a November 2 birthday to begin kindergarten this fall, the answer would be yes.  Attending preschool is not a requirement for attending kindergarten.

  6. It depends on your state's "cut-off" date, and most states have moved to Sept. 1 or Sept. 30. (some even Aug. 1).

And some will allow a child to "test-in" for early admission, but most that allow "early admission" have a cut-off date for that too.

So just enrollment in pre-K won't cut it, especially over the summer.   Unless your district's cut-off date is Oct. 1 and they have a 45 day test-in cut off, or Nov. 1 and alllow early admission, you are likely out of luck.

But especially for boys, you really don't want to start them early.  They will always be the youngest, and it could affect them socially later on.
