Question:

Pre-made vegan pizza crust or alternative?

I'm in need of a pre-made vegan(dairy&egg free) pizza crust or a vegan alternative(ie: something thin, and relatively flat that bakes well).

Any suggestions?

Also, I'll be shopping at Whole Foods, if that helps at all..

Thanks.

  1. Most pre-made pizza crust are vegan such as Pillsbury Pizza Crust . Ener-G makes good pizza shells as well. You can also use pita bread, or bagels. Plus it is fairly easy to make your own:

  2. Even make it with 30% whole wheat flour and at Whole Foods they sell non bleached AP flour, add some wheat germ or seeds like sunflower or flax.

I make this here in Canada a small amount of yeast and bit of baking powder, more like an Indian naan, and I make a pure fresh tomato sauce, and use firm tofu instead of cheese, a bit of crumbled soya mozzerella is fine also.

  3. i've never heard of a pizza crust that contains dairy or eggs, so you're probably fine with anything you find.  check the ingredients, but most pizza crust would just contain flour, yeast, water maybe olive oil.

  4. I make my pizzas with shortcrust pastry and pile on the fillings.
