my fiance and I are getting married in two years. Neither of us has been maried before, and I'm trying to make a list of things we need to do over the next two years. I don't know if it's a bit early to start planning, but I've always thought that it's never to early to plan something. Especially something as huge as our wedding :). So, even though it isn't for another two years, what would you suggest? I mean, any ideas of things we could look into, research, ect? ideas and advice would really be great. As I said, I'm trying to compile a list of things, so if would be so kind, write your own list on here for me, so I have an idea what would be good to look into. Thanks. any thoughts of lists you can come up with???

  1. KISS Keep it simple smarty. Small Wedding  Make a movie and show it on a large screen at the reception

  2. I did the same thing when i got engaged. What i did was think about the last wedding i went to from start to finish. write down everything you remember. when you are all done, start calling around to places like florists and caterers and ask them what the typical time line is for reserving their services. then make your self a calendar of all the things you need to get done, and that way you'll have a day by day plan of everything you need to do and you can relax and concentrate on being the bride! :-)

    my advice-

don't let little things stress you out!  and by little things i mean- thinking about what kind of shoes your bridesmaids are wearing when you should be thinking about what YOU are wearing. learn to delegate!

  3. go to www.theknot.com....it is awesome. It has the list for you and you set up a profile, budgeter, and checklist

  4. Start saving money today!! We had a year and a half engagement & it has really helped that we've been saving some serious money all this time. Lots of unexpected things come up & seem to always require money!

Also, we are getting married at a Bed & Breakfast & she does all the catering in house, we can use any of her decorations we want, she suggested DJ's, photographers, & bakeries, & has a reception hall off to the side of the house. It's gorgeous! I suggest looking at a place like this for your wedding and reception. She's taking care of a lot of the little things, sort of like a package deal. Which has been a blessing in disguise since there are so many details with weddings.

Best of luck and congratulations! When you get stressed from it all, take a break!

  6. Some reception halls need loads of advanced notice to book your wedding day, so I'd start there.
