  1. h+7h=48    (add 6 to each side)

    8h=48       (add the h's)

    h=6          (divide each side by 8)

  2. first you add six to both sides and then you subtract h from 7h then you divide both sides by six

  3. first add the like terms

    8h-6=42 than add 6

    8h=48

    then divde by 8

    h=6

  4. h-6+7h=42

    h + 7h = 48 (by adding 6 to both sides)

    8h = 48 (by combining like terms, h + 7h)

    h = 48/8 (divide both sides by 8 to get h on its own)

    h = 6

  5. h-6+7h=42

    h+7h=42+6

    8h=48

    h=48/8

    h=6

  6. h=6

  7. h-6+7h=42

    h+7h=42+6    (Add like terms.)

    8h=48

    Divide by 8 on both sides and you get...

    h=6

  8. h equals 6-6=0 and 6*7=42

  9. ok first you do change h-6 to h+ negative 6 (it's the same thing as h-6) then u add 6 to negative 6 and 42 (this takes away the 6) 42 becomes 48. then u add the 7h and h together( just think of the h as a 1h it's the same thing h=1h) so 7h becomes 8h. then u divide 42 and 8 and you get h=6 (i hoped this helped!!)

  10. Good try! The answer is n=6

    First, consolidate like terms by adding h+7h:

    h-6+7h=42

    -6+8h=42

    Now, add 6 to each side of the equation to isolate the variable:

    8h=48

    Finally, divide each side by 8:

    h=6

  11. ok since you have 2 like terms (h) on one side of the equation, you can add them together. 7h+h= 6h. not that hard. ok so then you're left with 8h-6=42. add six to both sides of the equation. 8h=48. divide each side by 6 to isolate the variable. so you get 6. :)

  12. You add the positive h's to get 8h

    then add the 6 to both sides

    divide each side by 8

    the answer is h=6

  13. h-6+7h=42   combine like terms [the h's]

    -6+8h=42 add six to both sides

    8h=48 divide by 8  on both sides

    h= 6

  14. h-6+7h=42

      +6        +6

    h+7h=48

    8h=48

    h=6

  15. first combine the like terms. since h and 7h are both positive, you add them to get 8h. so its now 8h-6=42. now add 6 on both sides to cancel out the -6 so you get 8h=48. then divide each side by 8 to get h=6. hey you actually were pretty close

  16. It's been a while since i've done algebra, because I had Geometry last year, but I'll try to help. =]

    First combine the "h"s, so that you have 8h-6=42, then add the 6 to the 42, to get 8h=48, then divide 48 by 8, and you should have your answer!  I hope I helped, and did this right!  Feel free to blame me if it's wrong ;]

  17. h-6+7h=42

    (h+7h)-6=42 (rearranged the equation)

    8h-6=42 (added the h values)

    8h=48 (added 6 to both sides)

    h=6 (48 divided by 8)

  18. h-6+7h=42

    h+7h-6=42 (Move the h's next to each other and then combine them)

    8h-6=42 (Now add 6 to both sides of the equation:

    8h-6+6=42+6

    8h=48 (Now divide both sides by 8)

    8h/8=48/8

    h=6

  19. It's 6

    6 - 6 + 7 * 6 = 42

  20. (h+7h)-6=42

    8h-6=42

    8h-6+6=42+6

    8h=48

    8h/8=48/8

    h=6

  21. h-6+7h=42

    simplify left side

    8h-6=42

    *add 6 to both sides

    8h=48

    *divide both sides by 8

    h=6
