Precious Dream ready to take on Penniston Line in the Students Of Limerick Race on 29th March, 2012
Students Of Limerick Race will take place today, on 29th March, 2012 at Limerick. The four runners will compete on a yielding surface over 6 furlongs and 160 yards for a purse of €6,900.
Penniston Line will race as a favourite with winning odds of 13 to 8 and he will compete against Crimson Sunrise, Precious Dream and Drombeg’s Choice.
The son of Holy Roman Emperor, out of mare Willowbridge, started his racing career on 16th March, 2012.
He entered the V. Keating Oil LTD. Median Auction Maiden at Dundalk as a favourite with odds of 6 to 5 and landed an impressive victory.
Paired with W. M. Lordan, he chased the leader and overtook him, soon led and gained pace, maintaining his composure through the final furlong and comfortably crossing the wire, 1 ¾ lengths ahead of Rasputin.
Owned by Mrs. John Magnier, the three-year-old gelding is trained by T. Stack. He is in good form and will be aiming for a strong finish. This time he will be mounted by S. A. Gray.
Precious Dream, daughter of Mr. Greeley, out of Lady Carla, made her career debut on 29th May, 2011.
Teamed with jockey, W. M. Lordan, she secured a placed finish as she stood third in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Maiden at Leopardstown.
She finished a short-head after runner-up, Secretary Of State.
Trained by David Wachman for owner Michael Tabor, the three-year-old filly bagged a victory in the seasonal debut.
Coupled with jockey Lordan again, she showed more determination in the Red Mills 3YO Maiden at Dundalk on 2nd March, 2012.
She entered with odds of 5 to 2 and defeated race favourite, Dimitar, by 2 lengths.
Today, she will be racing under Lordan aiming for an encore of her previous performance.
Coming from the same bloodline as Penniston Line, Crimson Sunrise looks in good shape, ready to take on the other runners.
The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor, out of mare Zanida, is more experienced. Under the training of D.K Weld, she landed two victories in her previous season.
Under jockey P. J. Smullen, she entered the Lynn Lodge Stud European Breeders Fund 2YO Median Auction Maiden with odds of 11 to 2 on 28th May, 2011, at Navan.
She triumphed over Rockview Diamond by a short-head, crossing the wire just in the nick of time.
She repeated this stellar performance in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Nursery at Killarney on 23rd August, 2011, this time defeating Secretary Of State by ½ length under jockey L.F. Roche.
Penniston Line is the predicted winner but Precious Dream may be an obstacle in his way. Crimson Sunrise may secure a finish in third place.
