Question:

Precooked ribs, refrozen?

So I have this full rack of precooked ribs that was in my freezer for about a week. I decided to take it out and let them thaw in my fridge. I didn't get the time to heat them up and eat them, so I just put them back in the freezer.. Are they still ok if I thaw them out once again and eat them right away?

So the scoop is... I had these ribs for a week in my freezer. They are precooked, and I just have to heat them up. I let them thaw out in my fridge for 2 days, tops! I couldn't get around to eating them so I put them back in my freezer. Will they be ok if I pull them out of the freezer in about a week and actually eat them this time.

And yes I practically repeated myself twice in that question. : )

Thank you very much for your input!

  1. I was taught growing up that once you defrost meat of ANY kind you DO NOT freeze them again and eat them. Could make you sick.

  2. Personally I wouldn't eat them, throw them out and start again, this time do the eating part as ribs are the best to munch on.

As a rule that I follow, Three days in the fridge then it's to the compost, Three months in the freezer then in the compost.
