  1. Well, instead of me doing your homework, why don't I teach you so you can answer them yourself?

Just remember - every complete sentence has two parts: a subject and a predicate.

The subject is what or whom the sentence is about

The predicate tells something about the subject.

First you need to determine the subject of a sentence.   Isolate the verb (the action word) and then make a question by placing "who?" or "what?" before it - the answer is the subject.

The boy ate popcorn at the movies.

The verb in the above sentence is "ate." So you ask yourself "Who ate?"  The boy did so "The boy" is the subject of the sentence.

The predicate always includes the verb and goes on to relate something about the subject: What about the boy? or What did the boy do?  he "ate popcorn at the movies."

So for your first example, "is a good baseballer" is the predicate and "George" is the subject.  (Although I'm not sure baseballer is a grammatically correct word!)

If you get confused on sentences with a lot of extra words and phrases, try to shorten the sentence to just the subject and the verb.  All the rest should be descriptive information like adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, etc.

example - John read a chapter in the book that Sue gave him.

Shorten it to "John read."   Gave is also a verb here, but it's extra information, not part of the main subject/verb.  (It describes which book)
