  1. by delta S, I'm assuming you mean entropy, or disorder.

    The reaction is starting with 1 mole of CaCO3, but then yields 1 mole of CaO and 1 mole of CO2, a total of 2 moles. Therefore, it is getting MORE disordered, so the sign of delta S is positive.
