Predicted Squad of Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil
We all saw how the Argentineans impressed all the football fans around the world by winning each and every match until they met the Germans, who totally thrashed them with a 4-0 defeat. Even though the Argentinean team did not manage to
win against the Germans, everyone saw how the amazing young talent came out on top for the South American side. In 1978, the Argentineans came out on top with young talent as they won the FIFA World Cup back then.
The current coach for the Argentinean side, Diego Maradona is still confused about his future prospects and if he is going to coach the squad or not. In any case, he has been criticized for his decision-making when it came down to the defence line-up for
the Argentineans. Fans from South America just stood in awe when they found out that the amazing Inter Milan defender Javier Zenetti was not a part of Diego Maradona’s squad. Along with Zenetti, Cambiasso and the Barcelona star Diego Milito were also made
to sit at home and watch the match over television, as they could not join their international side. Anyway, since Heinze, Zenetti and Samuel might not be of age to play for Argentina in the next world cup (let’s not talk about Veron at the moment), the rest
of the team would probably be the same.
The goalkeeper Sergio Romero actually did a marvellous job at the back, as the goals that he conceded were usually defensive mistakes and he managed not to bring disgrace to his country; not forgetting how Robert Green did an amazing job for his reputation
in the FIFA World Cup. Next year round, Romero would only be 27 and would be able to serve his country as a goalkeeper. Besides Romero, Adrian Gabbarini is a good option for the Argentineans as he had a great season for the Rojo.
Talking about defenders, Clemente Rodriguez did a wonderful job in the only match he played in. He was able to go forward from the right wing and come back to defend with his amazing speed and balance. He could be a great option on the right wing, and way
better than Gutiarus, who is currently the right back for the Argentineans. Cristian Ansaldi and Emiliano Insua are also great options for being the full backs for the squad. For the Centre backs, Otamendi or Demichelis would be great options as they would
be great by the year 2014. Otamendi at that point of time would be a defensive titan, as he played pretty good against the Germans. Nicolas Burdisso would be a great option along with the Boca Junior player Matias Caruzzo, who would only be 29 in the next
world cup and he has been a great factor for the Agentinos Juniors.
In the midfield, if Argentina decides to put a formation of 4-2-3-1, just like Spain and Holland, then Javier Mascherano and Mario Bolatti are the best options they have. They are amazing at this position as they have proven themselves time and again. In
the year 2014, they will be 30 and 29, respectively. Just because of this formation, Carlos Tevez along with Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore, would be left to fill out the two blank spaces with Lionel Messi.
Diego Milito, upfront, would be gone by the time the next world cup will start therefore; Gonzalo Higuain would have to prove himself as a good finisher rather than a good tap-in player. Even though he managed to score 4 goals in the FIFA World Cup 2010,
but none of them were classic moves from him, as he was only given the ball by the feeders and he just had to tap them inside the goal. The Real Madrid player is still a youngster and he has to prove a lot to be a part of the next world cup’s squad. There
are other candidates such as Gabriel Hauche of Racing, who is pretty impressive in the Spanish club.
Therefore, the starting line-up of the Argentinean squad would probably be:
Romero, Otamendi, Caruzzo, Burdisso, Ansaldi, Mascherano, Bolatti, Messi, Pastore, Tevez, Higuain.
Substitutes: Gabbani, Demichellis, Insua, Di Maria, Aguero, Hauche, Blanco.
