Predicted Squad of Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil
The runner-ups of FIFA World Cup 2010 are definitely going to try and get their revenge. They will try to get their hands on the cup after 4 years, when they visit Brazil for the next FIFA World Cup, which is going to take place in 2014.
They had an amazing record in this FIFA World Cup and they will try to get there again, after realising where they have gone wrong, as they will try to learn from their mistakes that they made this year round. They will definitely be full of confidence and
they will be enraged as they have come to the final stage thrice in the FIFA World Cups and never actually got the chance of winning the gold.
The current coach for the Dutch side, Bert Van Marwijk is still confused about his future in the team. The team that was handed on to him definitely performed really well, as they were able to beat the best team in the world, Brazil, and they were able to
make their way to the Final of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The only reason why they failed was because of the “rough” style of play that they adapted.
The goalkeeper of the Dutch team, Stekelenburg, would be 31 years old and would be definitely playing the next FIFA World Cup. The Dutch goalkeeper has been able to replace their former goalkeeper Edwin Van der Saar perfectly; as he was a nominee for the
golden glove, which was won by Iker Casillas of Spain, later on. The perfect substitute for him would be the 30 year old at that time, Vorm, who has been a good goalkeeper during the training sessions that he took in his club and with the Dutch squad.
Amongst the teams that are going to be a part of the FIFA World Cup 2014, Netherlands is one of those teams which do not need to worry about their defence. They have a perfect line-up of 4 defenders; the left back is definitely going to be Van Aanholt, who
was not given a chance to shine this year round, but he will be a part of the next FIFA World Cup with a very young age of 23. The Centre backs are going to be, the very experienced Heitinga and the very young Bruma; as both of them have impressed too much
recently. The right back has to be Van der Wiel, who had an amazing FIFA World Cup this year round and with the age of 22 this year, he would definitely be a part of the next FIFA World Cup, and even one more that is going to take place after 2014.
In the midfield, if the Dutch decide to play 5 midfielders along with 2 wingers then; De Jong and Fer are going to be the best defensive midfielders the Europeans can have. There is no better choice for the European side to play as defensive midfield, as
Van der Bommel is not going to be a part of the next FIFA World Cup, and would be retired. These two would be of perfect age after four years and will be ready to serve the team with amazing pace and defensive techniques. Upfront, in the centre midfield would
be Sneijder, who is going to be playing his last FIFA World Cup at the age of 30; he has been an amazing asset for the team this year round and has scored 5 goals, even though he is a midfielder. The two wingers would definitely include Robben on the right
hand side. The left footed “flying Dutchman” has been an amazing asset for the team, with amazing fast feet and the ability to cut in and score goals. The other winger would be Elia; the young 23 year old has impressed many already, when he was brought on
by the coach during the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Robin van Persie, would be playing his last FIFA World Cup and would serve his team by playing as a “soul striker” for them. He did not manage to impress the football fans this year round, as he did not manage to score too many goals; in fact only one goal
which came off a deflection. He has been injured throughout the season that he played in Arsenal, and did not manage to be of good use to the Dutch side. 4 years later, he is going to get a chance to redeem himself, as he will be given a chance to score goals
for his country.
Therefore, the starting line-up of the Italian squad would probably be:
Stekelenburg, Van der Wiel, Heitinga, Bruma, Van Aanholt, De Jong, Fer, Robben, Sneijder, Elia, Van Persie.
Substitutes: Vorm, Pieters, Boulahrouz, De Zeeuw, Afellay, Van der Vaart, Castaignos.
