Predicting the Starting 11 for the Catalan Giants (Part 2)
Dani Alves (Right Back):
Daniel Alves da Silva is one of those players who can actually play at any position. His versatility allows him to shoot and pass the ball with both his feet and that is his “extra” advantage on the field, allowing him to get higher credentials during the game. Dani was brought in from Sevilla just like the recently signed Adriano and Keita. Alves currently plays as a right back for the Spanish Giants and has been able to perform really well for the team. His ability to move forward and produce pin point crosses is simply amazing. There have been several moments when Alves crossed the ball into the 18 yard, leading to a goal for Barcelona. Daniel Alves is a very important for the Spanish Giants because he plays right behind the Argentinean magician, Lionel Messi. Messi and Dani da Silva combine really well on the right hand side and many have seen them doing their “amazing” one touch passing to get rid of the defensive lines. Alves is definitely going to be a part of Barcelona’s first team because of his fabulous performance during the previous seasons. He is a key player for Barcelona and therefore his spot as a right back is reserved.
Sergio Busquets (Defensive Midfielder):
The amazing Spanish youngster has made an impact on Barcelona’s style of play and has adapted well with the team. He was definitely one of those players, who made a difference for the Spaniards during the FIFA World Cup 2010. During the semi-final match against the Germans, Busquets played 50 passes and was able to complete 48 out of them. Obviously, he couldn’t beat his team mate, Xavi Hernandez, who is definitely the “king of passing!” During the FIFA World Cup 2010, Sergio was the player who completed most of his passes and came on number 2 in the ranking of “most passes given by a player.” Sergio Busquets is a very young player and has a long way to go. A newbie into the team, he still has a chance in the first team because Yaya Toure has left the Giants for Manchester City. Toure was a key defensive midfielder for the Spanish Giants, and since he has left, Pep is definitely going to consider Busquets.
Xavi Hernandez (Centre Midfielder):
King of Passing, without any doubt; Xavi Hernandez is one of those players who was under-rated during his early years in the Spanish Club. But it’s a different story now, as he has proven his worth for the team. Hernandez is one of those players who helped Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in scoring goals. He is certainly a “top” assistance to the big names in football, and is now considered to be one of the best midfielders in the world. Xavi Hernandez was able to complete almost 85% of the passes that he played during the FIFA World Cup 2010. He helped the newly signed, David Villa in scoring 3 of the goals Xavi had. Out of these, one was a crucial goal, which came off against the Portuguese when Hernandez gave a back heal to Villa, helping him score a fabulous goal for the Spaniards. He is currently in the list of “best players in the world,” and is definitely a nominee for the “player of the year” award. Xavi Hernandez is the heart of Barcelona and without him the team seems to be incomplete. Therefore, he is definitely going to be in the first team. Right now he is 30 years old and in his best form. The middle-aged Spaniard has proven all the “power houses,” wrong because of the fact that he does not make too many runs with the ball and only passes it around to create possibilities for goals.
