Predicting the starting 11 of Manchester United (Part 3)
Darren Fletcher (Defensive Midfielder):
If there is a shortage of players in the world, then definitely, defensive midfielders are one of them. Good holding midfielders like the former Barcelona man, Yaya Toure or the Argentinean player Javier Mascherano, are hard to find. During the FIFA World Cup 2010, there were many teams who were not using the likes of a defensive midfielder and many saw how such teams actually failed to deliver. Teams such as Uruguay and Argentina were not able to utilize their holding midfielders and managed to fail during the FIFA World Cup 2010. Darren Fletcher of Manchester United is a player who is neither overrated nor underrated; he is in fact not even rated as a player as yet. Fletcher is a player who can seriously act well as a defensive midfielder and had an amazing season for Manchester United last year. Darren Fletcher is definitely going to be a first choice for Sir Alex Ferguson because of his amazing form that he has shown throughout the pre-season matches that he played. Fletcher cannot only score goals, in fact he can run back to help the defenders and then help the centre midfield to create wonderful passes for the attackers.
Paul Scholes (Central Attacking Midfielder):
If there are any legends in the team of the Red Devils; Paul schools is definitely one of them. He knows exactly what to do at what time. Even though his record as a “tackler” is not very good as he has suffered a good amount of red cards, he still manages to help the team score goals. Paul Scholes is one of those players who make a move forward and help the team build up for the attack. At an age of 35, Paul Scholes still manages to run throughout the field along with the young squad and he still manages to use his powerful right foot to score goals. Last season, it was Paul Scholes who opened the scoring for Manchester United against the amazing German team Bayern Munich. Even though there are many other players that can take his place, Sir Alex Ferguson takes help from the talented and experienced midfielder when it comes down to difficult games. The way he gives long balls to the wingers is simply amazing, as he times the ball so well that the player is not even given offside. Paul Scholes is definitely a first choice for the Red Devils; not only because of his experience but also because he is an amazing midfielder and an amazing asset for the club.
Ryan Giggs (Left Midfield):
Another legend in the squad of Manchester United; Ryan Giggs is one of those players who have scored at least one goal in all the seasons that he has played. Giggs is definitely a legend for the Red Devils as he has the experience and the talent to do wonders with the ball. Ryan Giggs, even at an age of 36, can control the ball well and can create passes for the players who are running inside the 18 yard box. Even though there are other talented players in the English Premier League, he is still one of the best left footed midfielders that are currently playing. Ryan Giggs can help the team make amazing moves and he can even help the team score goals as his pin point crosses are just fabulous. He is not only a player who can make a run from the left hand side to deliver a cross; in fact he is a player who takes free kicks for the club. The free kicks are not “just” free kicks; in fact, they actually turn out to be helpful as the attackers are well aided by his pin point long balls. Ryan Giggs does not only play as a left midfielder, in fact he can also come to the centre to help the midfielders. Ryan Giggs is definitely going to be a first choice for Sir Alex Ferguson, even though there is so much talent in Manchester United on the wings but still Giggs is a player who can deal with the pressure against the big teams.
