  1. My prediction for the NBA 2008-2009 season....

    Eastern Conference Standing

    Atlantic

    1) Boston Celtics

    2) Philadelphia 76ers

    3) Toronto Raptors

    4) New Jersey Nets

    5) New York Knicks

Boston is still the cream of the crop but Philly and Toronto are making noise by adding Elton Brand and Jermaine O'Neal into this division to contend with Kevin Garnett. New Jersey is in rebuilding mode, looking forward to 2010, when LeBron hits the market and the Knicks are just trying to survive.

    Central

    1) Detroit Pistons

    2) Cleveland Cavilers

    3) Indiana Pacers

    4) Milwaukee Bucks

    5) Chicago Bulls

The Pistons and Cavilers own this division but Indiana is the team with the most potential. Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy are both 20 point scorers that can help this young, exciting Pacers team that almost reach the playoffs. The Bucks have the offense but little else and Chicago might still have to wait for Derrick Rose to develop by next year.

    Southeast

    1) Orlando Magic

    2) Washington Wizards

    3) Atlanta Hawks

    4) Miami Heat

    5) Charlotte Bobcats

Orlando is the talk of the town, but then everything else is down in this division. Washington comes close but not in the level that the Magic are in right now. Atlanta might dwindle a bit because there still a young team and Miami is slowly creeping toward the top. The Bobcats, even with Larry Brown, are still looking for an identity.

    1) Detroit Pistons

    2) Boston Celtics

    3) Orlando Magic

    4) Philadelphia 76ers

    5) Washington Wizards

    6) Cleveland Cavilers

    7) Toronto Raptors

    8) Indiana Pacers

    Western Conference

    Southwest

    1) New Orleans Hornets

    2) San Antonio Spurs

    3) Dallas Mavericks

    4) Houston Rockets

    5) Memphis Grizzlies

This division is getting deeper, so there has to be a team bound to fall. The Hornets got better while the Spurs seems to get older. The Mavericks might make some noise with Rick Carslile as the new head coach but the Rockets might not have enough, even with defense as there biggest strength. You can basically count out Memphis on this one.

    Northwest

    1) Utah Jazz

    2) Portland Trail Blazers

    3) Denver Nuggets

    4) Minnesota Timberwolves

    5) Oklahoma City Thunders

The Jazz still rule this division but the Blazers are the talk of the town right now and could end there playoff futility soon. Denver seems to be falling down but there no worse than Minnesota and Oklahoma City.

    Pacific

    1) Los Angeles Lakers

    2) Phoenix Suns

    3) Golden State Warriors

    4) Los Angeles Clippers

    5) Sacramento Kings

The Lake Show are the defending Western Conference champs and they intend to keep it that way. The Suns might be a bit slower while the Warriors seems to get faster. The Clippers could be an improvement in this division with a new look while Sacramento looks to be the bottom-feeder of the division.

    1) Los Angeles Lakers

    2) New Orleans Hornets

    3) Utah Jazz

    4) San Antonio Spurs

    5) Dallas Mavericks

    6) Phoenix Suns

    7) Portland Trail Blazers

    8) Golden State Warriors
