Predictions for the rest of Chelsea’s season (to be taken with a pinch of salt)
Chelsea have been written out of the title race in the current season of the Barclays Premier League after a string of terrible results saw them drop down to fifth place. However, it’s a new year and a new start for the struggling champions. Anything can
happen during the rest of the campaign. Let’s take a look at how their season will pan out from here onwards.
January :
Carlo Ancelotti suffers a nervous breakdown after a full strength Chelsea squad lose 5-0 to Ipswich town at Stamford Bridge. Roman Abramovich is given no choice but to replace the incapacitated Italian. Failed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 manager Rafael Benitez is brought in to
lead the Blues through the rest of the season. However, Benitez is sacked one week later for trying to kill Abramovich. When asked why he attempted to murder the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 owner, Benitez simply replies, “Me angry no players buy.”
February :
Chelsea bounce back into 2nd place behind Manchester United after new manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Titus-Bramble-c35166, who suddenly becomes
the most valuable defender in the world. Meanwhile, Manchester City attempt to buy their way back into the top, acquiring 47 players in the January transfer window.
March :
The race for the Premier League crown intensifies as Chelsea manage to defeat Manchester United to draw level on points with the Red Devils. However, the victory is marred by Sir Alex’s claims that the Blues cheated their way to the win. The United manager
insists that Drogba “released a @#$%^## malaria carrying mosquito” into the Manchester United team bus prior to the match.
April :
More drama as Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea all become joint leaders in the league. Manchester City are effectively out of the running by this point after Sheikh Mansour suddenly realizes he has run out money, prompting a mass exodus
of players from the club. Only Carlos Tevez stays at Eastlands, citing the fact that his daughters back home in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 face a losing battle against relegation; however, Roy Hodgson still remains
the manager because the owners just can’t resist his puppy dog eyes.
May :
Before the final round of matches, the top four are still level on points. It’s anyone’s guess as to who will clinch the title. Arsene Wenger’s young team buckles under the pressure. Their last match is called off after three Arsenal players soil themselves
on the pitch. Spurs fare no better, leaving Manchester United and Chelsea to battle it out for the title. Sir Alex Ferguson fails to bribe the referee for the first time in his managerial career, and United subsequently lose their match.
Just before the decisive encounter, Chelsea’s title hopes are dealt a severe blow. Drogba is banned from playing in the final match after he is caught trying to deploy a mosquito into the Everton team bus. However, the Blues somehow scrape a win against
David Moyes’ side, making them the Barclays Premier League champions for the 2010/11 season.
Ok so maybe the rest of the season won’t go exactly like that, but in a campaign which has seen so many twists and turns already, one can never tell. We will be one step closer to knowing what the future holds for Chelsea when they face Wolverhampton http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952
on Wednesday.
