Preference for Imjoeking in Christmas Parties At Carlisle Racecourse Novices´ Hurdle at Carlisle
No doubt, Imjoeking has the ability to land a race like Christmas Parties At Carlisle Racecourse Novices´ Hurdle, taking place at Carlisle on Monday, November 12th. There are surely a few very powerful contestants in the pack, but the preference
should be given to Lucinda Russell’s charge, whose bumper triumph came here last month.
The 5-year-old has raced only thrice so far, grabbing success on two occasions. He made his debut on a winning note in February, when dominating the Clare Mart Ltd & Pier Head Bar & Restaurant 5yo+Confined Maiden at Belharbour. On his second start, he found
only one too strong at Ballysteen.
In April’s Manns Hotel Winner Of One 4yo+ (Mdns Excl), the juvenile finished second to the 6-4 favourite, Castle Fall'S. After making a couple of good rides, the Patrick Hogan-bred took a break of almost six months.
Owned by K. Alexander, the bay gelding made his comeback here last month. On heavy two miles and one furlong, he performed tremendously in the hands of Steven Fox. Carrying the odds of 10 to 1, he took keen hold early on.
Despite the fact that he held up thereafter, a steady progress helped him lead three furlongs before the wire. The 8-15 favourite, Blackwater King, came up with a serious challenge, but Imjoeking held on well inside the final furlong. Consequently, he stole
the show by one and a quarter lengths.
Over a distance of two miles and one furlong, Imjoeking alongside six others will run for a prize of £2,534. According to the schedule, the class 4 meeting will be started at 14:55 GMT.
Julia Too made a successful start to hurdles career, and would be a strong contender in today’s race. Definite Dream is an Irish bumper champion, but his new trainer, Evan Williams, is struggling for the winners these days.
Forty Crown could not show anything special under a penalty last time. So, others are preferred. Grand Shift is half-brother to Lovcen, but the bumper form leaves bit to find. Jack Albert looks vulnerable in these conditions. Morning Royalty showed useful
bumper form in Ireland, but the recent hurdles debut was poor.
