Question:

Pregnancy, the bc pill and antibiotics???

I’m 21 and have been taking the pill (Estelle 35-ed) for more than a year and have not missed any pills for at least three months. I recently took a short course (3 tabs per day for 7 days) of antibiotics (cephalexin). I had unprotected s*x with my boyfriend at least 9 days after finishing the antibiotics (not quite sure about the date), on the same day as I took the first non-active pill in my current pack. The following day I had a tiny spot of blood. Now, two days later, I think my period is about to start. Pill instructions say to use protection for 7 days after ‘medications that might affect the pill’.

Is it likely that I am pregnant? Does being on the pill affect the accuracy of pregnancy tests? Obviously, if I get little to no bleeding I will stop the pill and take a pregnancy test. If I get a ‘proper’ period, I intend to take 2 weeks of active pills then stop and take a test. I know it’s not good in case I am pregnant, but I want to decrease my chances of implantation. Please help!
