Pregnancy after tubal?

Hi,

I had a tubal ligation (metal clamps on tubes, no burning) in 2000 and now im showing signs of pregnancy. I was told that it was pretty much 100% chance that i could not become pregnant, but recently my "periods" have been irregular, shorter, and even more recently I have been starting to lactate (or the appearance of milk discharge from the b*****s). THey are tender as well. I had a strong stomach cramp last monday that made me throw up. I feel run down with no energy. I took an over the counter pregnancy test but it come up negative. still im not convinced. I have an appointment with the OBGYN on monday but still, what are the chances that this is pregnancy? My husband and I have not used birth control.

a recent study showed that for every 10,000 women who had a tubal ligation done, there was 143 failures. therefore the chance of pregnancy here is 1.4%.

pregnancy after a tubal is more likely if the procedure was done a long time ago ie, 10yrs or so, as the tubes sometimes repair themselves. however, pregnancy after a tubal does have a greater risk of being ectopic.

You might be pregnant.  You really need to see a doctor.  It might be another tubal.  

As far as not being able to get pregnant, Dr. Laura Schlessinger had a tubal before she had her son.

Edit:  Duh, my bad.  I misread it.  I thought you meant tubal pregnancy!  Anyway, it's possible that you could be pregnant, even after the tubal litigation.  See a doctor.

you don't sound pregnant, you sound like you have PTLS(post tubal ligation syndrome) i would google it and look into it

My cousin had her tubes tied & she was told exactly the same thing, she now has two children. Nothing is ever 100% hun, I joked with my cousin about it just after she had her tubes tied, she said that I jinxed her.

You could quite well be pregnant.
