  1. I REALLY hope you added maternity coverage.  But call.  And We had a client win a case in California.  A company tried to get out of paying for maternity because when the husband starting working for the company his wife was 5 1/2 months pregnant.  a pre-existing condition. But California unemployment said that pregnancy was considered "any other illness" and the insurance company paid their 80%.

But Melina writes policies without maternity.  So get a copy of your coverages... NOW

  2. Call the number provided to you on your insurance card. Someone else may have Melina health insurance, but that doesn't mean they have the same policy as you. The company you have your insurance with elects the type policy they want for their group and 9 times out of 10, it is not the same as another groups. Your benefits maybe available online also.

  3. If you have an individual health insurance policy with Molina then they typically will not cover maternity expenses unless you add on the additional maternity coverage.

If you have a group health policy with Molina then they typically will cover maternity expenses without you having to add on any additional type of coverage.

Of course, the plans and specifics differ from state to state and even from one type of Molina plan to the next so be sure and call your agent or call the company directly.

Here is some more information on Molina Health Insurance Company:

  4. All policies are different in the way they handle pregnancy - even coverage within the same company.

If you own an individual policy, then you will have needed to select the optional maternity rider.  If it is a group health insurance plan, then you need to talk with your carrier and carefully review your plan.

  6. You will have to call the number on the back of your card and ask.

  7. You should contact your insurance provider and ask them to send you the booklet of what your policy covers.
