  1. you are not suppose to breastfeed while pregnant even your doctor will tell you so. the hormones in your body are not good for the one you are feeding

  2. My mom told me that her milk supply had gone down when she got pregnant with me.  More importantly, she told me that her doctor had advised that she start weaning my brother when she got pregnant, because it was too much strain on her body to try to support 3 people.  (Not trying to stir up controversy - I nursed all of my boys for at least 12 months each, but it does seem like there is only so much you can expect from your body.)

  3. A bit. You can but you need to keep up on your nutrition and liquids and vitamins. Gotta keep you healthy and the babies to. Good luck!!

  4. If you get pregnant while breast feeding an older child it is fine to continue nursing unless a medical condition dictates otherwise.  As your pregnancy progresses your body will, at some point, begin to switch to producing colostrum in preparation for the birth of the new baby.  Your older child may or may not find this new change in the milk desirable.  Some will continue nursing with no change while others may slow down or even stop.  When the baby is born, your body will have plenty of colostrum for the newborn as well as some for the older nursling.  Just like with your previous pregnancy your milk will gradually transition to mature breast milk.  Some older babies who gave up nursing when the colostrum was flowing will become re-interested when they see their new baby sibling at the breast.  There are many women who successfully tandem nurse a newborn and an older child.  There are no dangerous hormones in your breast milk when you are pregnant that are harmful to an older nursing child.  Your body can also support nursing 2 babies with no problems especially if you are in good health, drink plenty of water, and eat healthy.

  5. it stays the same. My stepmom got pregnant twice while she was nursing and her milk supply stayed strong.
