Question:

Pregnancy test -- faint positive or evaporation?

I'm 4 days late for my period. I took a Dollar Tree pregnancy test yesterday morning and this morning.

Yesterdays test was negative, but then about 30 minutes afterwards there was a second but really faint line. It stayed on the test all day. I couldn't really tell but I think the line was more grey than pink.

This morning I watched the test closely for 20 minutes. It was negative until at 12 minutes a second faint pink line appeared, but disappeared at 20 minutes.

Are these evaporation lines or faint positives?

I don't really feel pregnant but I'm testing because I'm late, have had spotting twice this cycle, and have had no PMS symptoms at all, which is really strange.

Please help!

  1. If the lines show within the designated time, then you're pregnant.  If it was after the designated time, disregard those results.  You may want to go to the Dr. for a blood test if you're late.

  2. Go check out http://www.peeonastick.com/ and see what they say there about evap lines and test sensitivity.  I remember reading that the dollar tree tests show evap lines quite often.  Anything that shows up after 10 minutes (less on some tests) is considered an evap line.  Disregard those results.  Good luck!
