Im 8 months. And its my family! They don't make fun, but they point it out and have a little laugh.

Because my belly button sticks out alot. And because I waddle when I walk.

Should I just laugh along? It kinds bugs me, but I only have 2 more months and don't want to seem whiney if I tell them that it bothers me.

Did anyone say things to you about those things?

  1. Whiney my ***! Oh h**l ya you tell them... they need to know that they are hurting your feelings, especially at such a sensitive time of your life.

Trust me if anyone had something not nice to say I made sure to give them a piece of my mind so they didn't do it again. You have a right to enjoy this time and not be worrying what people are saying.

  2. YES!  It was the waddling thing for me... and I just told them to shut up :)...

  3. My family made fun of me with my 1st and now that I'm on my 2nd they know I really didn't think it was funny the 1st time around.

Just let them know that you are feeling sensitive and you don't like it when they make fun of you. I'm sure they don't mean any harm by it but as all us prego ladies know it is just not that funny.

  4. Of course people pick at you but its not to be mean its to make lite of the fact that you are pregnant Please believe me when I say its not poking fun at you in a mean way its all love.  Pregnancy is a beautiful process and everyone knows that except the ones carrying the child they feel akward and not themselves.  You may not be laughing now but when your giving advice to a new to be mom you will be laughing about it then.  Enjoy this time because you will never be able to carry that bundle of joy again after its born.

Its all out of good clean fun no harm intended at all

  5. Yep- I'm 71/2 months...my family are the type to pick on everyone all the time. It's all in good fun, so I just laugh along back. You're probably overly sensitive due to the pregnancy, but if it is really bothersome I'd just let them know that it hurts your feelings...Otherwise, you only have 2 more months of dealing with it ;p

  6. Yeah--when I was pregnant with my second child, I walked like the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz! Don't you get sick of them?

But you ARE cute, y'know. And your family loves you and is excited/nervous about what is happening to you, so try to cut them some slack, if you can.

  7. When my cousin was pregnant, our family (especially aunts) made fun of the way she walked when she was nearing the end of her pregnancy.  She was so small before she got pregnant and was HUGE by the end so she waddled like a duck when she walked.  It was kind of funny.

I really doubt your family is doing it to be mean.  If it does bother you, which it sounds like it does, let them know that you do not appreciate their comments even if they aren't meant to hurt you.  Pregnant women are very emotional and things that wouldn't bother someone who wasn't pregnant may be a huge deal for someone who is.

  8. Yes I'm 29 weeks pregnant my family makes fun of me all the time...  especially my younger sister - and she can be REALLY mean about it...  she went so far as to call the baby a parasite one day, and when I told her how upsetting it was, she continued to call it parasite for about a week afterward just to be mean...

I also work in a chocolate shop and had a woman in her 40s call me fat and laugh at me in my face.  Other customers have been really mean to me too... but she was the worst so far.

Anyway, usually I try to just ignore it... but it does really get me down sometimes... the woman with the fat comment made me cry for almost two hours - but I think part of that was hormones.  Be honest with people if you think it will help... in my case it just made things worse!

Good luck!  The teasing will be over eventually!

  9. Oh god everyone makes fun of me! I am huge! They aren't doing it to be mean. They laugh when i walk, when I sit, when I stand...there is just no winning. If it really bothers you say something. But just remember you probably do look a little silly!

  10. Haha, my family makes fun of me my belly button sticks out too, and I waddle when I walk!! Evrything I do sumone is always laughin at! But I remember when my cuzin was prego we made fun of her too lol! So jus laugh and go along wit it but if it really bothers u jus ask them to lay off of u for a while! Or make fun of them about sumthen!! Lol,, good luck hun!!! :-)

  11. hahah i love your user name!  anyways, yeah im getting teased a lot...im 36 weeks and everyone calls me stupid prego names and stuff. One of my friends is the worst, shes one of those "competitive" pregnant ladies and this is her second (my first) and shes due oct 1. Ive gained a ton of weight, and shes "gained 15 lbs heheheh, youre SO BIG shano" and im like whatever. she gained 80 with her first, and she didnt lose one single pound afterwards. between her and my grandmas "you look like a whale, i had 8 children and never gained more than 20 pounds with any of them blah blah" im fed up. not too much longer now though....just vent to someone who really cares about you...like your partner or a good friend who doesnt pick on you. it helps. but since youre all hormonal, you dont want to say something you might regret later. which is why i havent reminded my friend that was a lardas* before her first, a lardas* after and shell still be a lardas* after this one, because maybe i wont feel that way once im done being pregnant. good luck!

  12. I was always picked on for my belly button... and I was in school until the day before I delivered, so people always picked on me... they would say "walking behind you, you cant tell that you are pregnant, then you turn to the side and BAM!"

they were trying to be nice and funny.. but when you are huge... the BAM!, doesnt seem so funny...

you're pregnant, you are allowed to be whiny and emotional... tell them to back off a little, no harm done!
