Pregnant Man!?

I acknowledge the fact I am about to sound extremely anti-g*y, or whatever, here and will likely earn the disdain of Oprah Winfrey (oh dang!), but I don't really care.

Does anyone buy this line of c**p that a man is pregnant. Allow me to set the record straight. This is a woman posing as a man. Now I really don't care if she thinks she is a he....she is a she. Don't believe me...look at her DNA...while the mind can be fooled, the DNA cannot. Mitochondrial DNA is only present in the mother...the female of the species...not the male. Therefore, if she were in fact a he, than she would be absent this. So then it comes down to she thinking she is a he but not actually being a he. Now if my uncle thinks himself a duck, we just laugh and lock him up...we don't celebrate the day he learns to swim. So, this woman is legal registered as a man, and we are all jumping up and down with the news that she is pregnant. So what? What is th point? Am I just that 'narrow-minded' to see this?

Ok, everyone is saying "it's a miracle!". It's not a freakin Miracle!!! I am not anti g*y by any means but I think this is being blown out of the water, big time! It's a girl who decided she wanted to be a guy, kinda but not really. Genetically, this dude is still a girl. And now she's pregnant. On Oprah yesterday, Oprah asked several times " Why are you going public with this" , why Oprah, you silly girl, to make lots and lots of money, which is exactly what they are doing. She also asked what they would do to live (make money) after the baby came and they sheepishly replied-"Oh, Thomas has been writing a book since he was 19 and we have some savings" I bet Thomas' book that he/she has been writing since 19 is turning into the "first pregnant Man" book now. Duh! The media is just playing this up. and what will this poor child have to deal with, being the first child born to a man. . .who's not really a man. These people are obviously just looking for some major attention when really, they are just a L*****n couple having a baby. .. .its' been done!!! No miracle here! I truly believe that anyone can live their life the way they please and there is nothing wrong with it. But do not make it into some fiasco for attention when its really not what you are portraying it to be. True MEN can not be pregnant!Period.

I am so proud and happy for Thomas and his wife! First off, I am happy that they never gave up and are finally having the baby they always wanted. Lots of people in the world are praying to have children and when they finally get pregnant it is an awesome thing. THAT is the most important thing here!

Now, to answer your question. I am a Christian woman and also a former L*****n. I was a L*****n for 16 years until I met my husband. So I am educated in moral standards of this story and physical as well. Look up the advocate.com and look at article, "Labor of Love.

Thomas is legally a man, biologically a woman. It is like going to the salon and dying your hair blond. EVERYONE knows you as a blond, but you really know you are a brunette. Thomas went through a lot to feel comfortable in the body God gave him. He tweaked it a bit, just like us ladies do with our hair and nails and plastic surgery, so that he may feel confident about himself.

So the bottom line is, he is a person, in love with his wife, and they are having a precious gift brought to their happy homes soon. The fact that he use to be a woman is the real story, because it is showing how far we have come in society.

What a blessing that truly is. :)

I am so glad to find out that I am not crazy, and that others think this is a bunch of b.s. as well.  I agree with everyone else, this is NOT a man, but a woman posing as a man.  I have no problem with people who go through the hormone therapy and operations if that is what they want to do, but to then get pregnant and claim to be the first pregnant "man" is absurd.

I agree, he was a woman in body and a man in mind and spirit and I am sure he/she is not the first and will not be the last. If you read anything about it you will see that he/she decided against having his/her reproductive organs removed when he/she discovered that his/her wife could not bear children. So in reality because he/she still has the female organs, he/she is not truly a man. Now, a hermaphrodite, impregnating them self would be mind blowing.

He became man after having several operations, and taking hormone pills. He is legally a man, he has all the parts. He is married to a woman (this would not be possible if he wasn't a he (unfortunately)).

I have no problems with transvestites. if they want to change their physical physique, that is their business, not mine. my personal feeling is that there is nothing wrong with wanting to live your life a different way when you are not hurting anybody.  so what if he was she but had some surgery to be a he for the rest of his/her life.

i am curious about the kid but could not say for sure that it would not be totally fine for it.  i know a g*y male couple who have an adopted kid and all is perfectly happy and good in their family.  you just do not know until the event.  there are plenty of *ha ha* "normal" parents who are terrible role models for kids (sometimes the kids still turn out okay).

what does concern me (though not overly because it is none of my business and i do not care too much) is why would somebody go to all that trouble to have their body changed and then do the ONE thing that makes you the gender you are/were?

if they wanted kids why not adopt? if it was an accident (and their beliefs do not preclude it) why not terminate? I can only assume it was an accident (as i do not know a lot about the story) and that they did want kids and decided to continue.  it will be daunting and scary though now (i doubt (s)he will be taking the hormone therapy while carrying a baby) and sure caesarian is imperitive?!!!

good luck to them...this will not be easy.

EDIT - I do not agree with celebrating it OR being critical either - I think we should let them get on with it and hope for the best for the family.

I agree fully with you.  This "man" is nothing more than a mutilated woman. She/he or whatever it refers to claim to be is severely confused and needed some help.  I mean the woman had her breast's removed and took testosterone to gain male features.  Why are we as a society celebrating this c**p?  There is such a thing as gender confusion.  This person had some issues that should have been dealt with and we should not be glorifying it.  Now the day an actual Male species that was born male becomes pregnant I would love to give heads up on a medical anomaly.  This is not that case here.  Another example of how twisted our society is becoming.  I feel for the child in this case.  How horrible.

Everyone can live their lives how they choose to, but c'mon. If you're born a girl, and you get pregnant one day, it's not a big deal. Even if you have deformed your body and have chosen to live as a man. You're still a woman underneath it all.

I don't get the point of them making a big fuss over this. It's a woman who had her b*****s removed and possibly some surgery down there to look like a guy (not sure of this part, but even if she had this done, she's still a woman!). Im pretty sure she's not the first woman to get pregnant while trying to portray herself as a man.
