  1. Have you been tested for that Glucose(sp) Diabities yet? I was tested and I was always thirsty. Well, my test came back fine, but I found out not even an hour to I had to start pushing, I DID have it. So, the doctors have told me that it could be that Glucose Diabities. If you are wondering, or unsure, ask your doctor. You should always ask your doctor if you are unsure about anything. Believe me, it helps!

  2. One thing to remember is that amniotic fluid is lost at the rate of an ounce an hour roughly.  You need to replenish 24 ounces of amnoitic fluid alone.  Then, add in the water needed by the baby plus the usual amount of water needed by your own body.

That's one thirsty mom.  In the summer if you are hot and sweating, then you also have to replace all that water.

It's hot here.  I went into L&D with a sudden illness that turned out to be dehydration.  Many women had come in with the same problem and several cases of premature broken water / labor due to a lack of water.

The nurse loudly announced to all the pregnant women in the waiting room that during heat waves we had to drink 3 liters of water.  On a normal day, it had to be 2 liters of water.

That is really, really hard to do, but since I have, I feel much better, baby's fine and no more sudden headaches and throwing up.

The bathroom and I are close comrades, however.

  3. Someone told me that having gestational diabetes causes you to be more thirsty than normal.  Has your doctor tested you yet? Usually done around 25 weeks.  Unfortunately, I tested positive for it.  I was thirsty a lot, and using the bathroom frequently was another symptom. Check it out.

  4. Its because your body is dehydrated. You better start drinking the water you should and learn to live w/ the peeing or you will be in the hospital w/ preterm labor! Im sure you dont want that..

  5. I've been doing the same thing!

I have 4 water bottles that sit on my night side table and I usually end up going to fill at least one of them up again.

I know how you feel- my husband makes fun of me lol

I'll tell him i have to pee, he'll say then go already!

i'll make a face and complain that i just went!

He calls me a camel with a leak, lol. ( He means well !)

Glad i'm not having the only water baby, haha

  6. lol.   Your body is making lots of extra blood for baby and your body is making a baby - that needs an awful lot of water.  It is a terrible dilemna I know - drink loads, pee loads.  lol.   But you really have no option - the pregnancy needs the water and you really do need to drink the water...  Just look on the peeing all night as good practive for when baby is here.

Seriously mention this to your doc/midwife as well as sometimes some illnesses - like diabetes can show up as well with unquenchable thirst - just to be safe.

    Best of luck and congrats.

  7. I am the same way. You just have to get used to the peeing because it happens! lol.

How far along are you? I started noticing more peeing at about 13 weeks (I never had it in the second trimester).

I was in L&D because I was having contractions (small ones) and after they gave me an IV drip they went away. When I was released the next day I was told to drink 16 8oz glasses of water a day (DOUBLE what you are supposed to), Let me tell you, it is hard but it is WORTH it - no more contractions.
