I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant and for the past week I've been cramping like period cramps..

Also sometimes I feel shortness in breathing like if someone was chocking me I've to move around or lay down for a lil bit to catch my breath back, sometimes I even have to take a cold shower to feel better..

Is this normal ?

Thanks !

  1. I am sure that the cramping is normal.

The shortness of breath could just be the baby pushing on your lungs. I an 27 weeks tomorrow and I have terrible shortness of breath.

  2. its good to lay on ur left side that may help with both problems. the cramps may be braxton hicks contractions. but there nothing they just get u used to the feel of wat a weak contraction will feel like. but if u think its something more i would definantly call your doctor. they know pretty much everything

  3. feeling short of breath is normal nothing to worry about your organs have shifted the baby is bigger and you are getting close to having the baby your perfectly fine you can call your doc if you need I am a Respiratory Therpist and many women as far along as you complain of both symptoms, the cramps are normal on and off in your pregnancy though now your body is preparing for labor in the comming weeks

  4. yes very the cramps are probably your pelvis getting wider. the getting hard to breath has a lot to do with the baby getting bigger and you have a lot more pressure on your chest. good luck and congrats.

  5. I think your cramping because the baby is probably head down and trying to get comfy. About the breathing though I'd call your doc. Some people get winded easy, but just to be sure give em' a call

  6. the cramping is yes these are contractions. the breathing part no. you should call your doctors office and let them know.

  7. I am also 36 weeks preg and shortness of breath is ok but i really dont know about the cramping. i do know that my doc asks me about that so if i were you i would tell your doc asap and see what happens. GOOD LUCK!!!

  8. Your baby is pushing on things and making it hard to breath it  does get harder to breath the further along you get cause the baby is big and in  a tight place the cramping is normal and will probably get worse the closer you get to delivery I would just talk to your doctor about the breathing problems at your next visit which is probably weekly now seeing how you only have 4 weeks don't worry everything will be fine.
